All 3 Morpeth County Councillors voted in favour of a motion to repeal the draft Core Strategy yesterday. The document was controversially shoehorned through by the previous Labour administration, with support from the Liberal Democrats, despite significant objection from Morpeth residents.
Despite the scare stories and misinformation put about by the discredited outgoing Labour group, proposals for the redevelopment of Bedlington Town Centre have been supported this week by the Conservative Group on Northumberland County Council.
It has been confirmed by Northumberland County Council that the Home Group, who were proposing to build up to 200 homes on land at County Hall in Morpeth have withdrawn from the deal. The news confirms rumours first reported a week or so ago.
