Campbell Storey - Conservative Parliamentary Spokesman for Wansbeck

I’m 33 and grew up in Newbiggin, where my parents ran the Bakery. I went to Windsor First School, the Middle School, and then to Hirst High.  I went from Hirst High to Oxford University and did a degree in History. After University I worked for a travel company in Gosforth doing their IT, I then set up my own IT company based in Newbiggin. I did this for three years before taking a break and began writing a PhD at Newcastle University and working part time in Cramlington doing business analysis. I’ve worked in politics since 2006. To relax I enjoy cooking, reading, watching the curious fortunes of Newcastle United unfold, and, at the expense of quite a few plants, I’m learning to garden.

To pay the bills I work for the Conservative Shadow Home Office Team. I write policy, do research into home affairs issues and coordinate the shadow team. I work in London during the week and am at home in the North-East most weekends. During the election campaign I'm at home in Newbiggin.

I became the Conservative Parliamentary Spokesman (used to be known as a PPC) in Wansbeck in 2008. The Parliamentary constituency of Wansbeck covers the old Wansbeck District Council area but also Morpeth.

If you choose me to be the next MP for Wansbeck I will:

  • Have Saturday surgeries in each main town at least once a month
  • I will not take a pay rise
  • I will put all financial data about being the MP on my website and expect you to scrutinise it
  • I will speak up in Parliament for Wansbeck

I’m campaigning to change Wansbeck. We’re a great area with bags of potential but we need more jobs. We’ve got a fantastic tradition of public service in the area and I’m really proud of all of the Teachers, Doctors, Nurses, Police Officers and other public servants who contribute to the life of Wansbeck’s communities.

I want Wansbeck to be able to stand on its own two feet and be proud of its future as well as its past. If we don’t get more businesses here and sort out unemployment then the next 30 years will look just like that last. I don’t think that is good enough. So, when you cast your vote think about Wansbeck’s future and how great it could be – the Conservatives can win in Wansbeck – that’s the only way we’ll change the future.

I want to hear from you, so if you’ve any ideas about changing Wansbeck for the better, then please get in touch, you can email me at Campbell@changewansbeck.com
